Communicator 5 Accessible Apps - Accessible Kindle: Quick
Guide
This document provides instructions on how to use Accessible Kindle to read books.
Requirements: To use Accessible Kindle, an (Amazon) Kindle account is required. If a user has not logged in with
Accessible Kindle previously, make sure to have the login credentials available. An unlocked device with access to the
Internet is also required.
Note: Refer to the Getting Started with Communicator 5 Accessible Apps Quick Guide for instructions on how to set
up the Communicator 5 Home Page with the accessible apps collection.
Launch Accessible Kindle
Launch Communicator 5
On Communicator 5 Home Page, select Accessible Kindle to launch
Accessible Kindle home control toolbar appears on the left
Open Amazon Kindle Cloud Reader Home Page
• If logged into Kindle, the Home Page shows the grid of books
in the user’s library
• If previously not logged into Kindle, use the Login and Info
button below to log in
Log into Kindle Cloud Reader if a first-time Accessible Kindle user
or for a previously logged-out account

Accessible Kindle Login
After selecting Login and Info on the home control toolbar, the left toolbar provides buttons for signing in, signing out and
more.
Browse Library
After launching Accessible Kindle and signing in, the Library view loads automatically. The library toolbar provides buttons
for browsing the user’s Kindle library books in an easy and more accessible way.

• Email or Phone and Password – bring up
Communicator 5 keyboard to enter information
• Keep Me Signed In - checks the “Keep me signed
in” box on the main screen
• Sign In

Search for a book in the user’s
library
Navigate to the book above the
currently selected one
Provide additional control options

Stop the device from reading aloud
Navigate to the book on the right of

Open the selected book, and go to the
reader view and toolbar

Sort books by when opened last

Open a page to go to a certain page,
location, bookmark, cover, or
beginning of the book
Navigate to the previous page of the
book
Recover Kindle Cloud Reader, close
extra windows, and more

Navigate to the next page of the
book
Add or remove a bookmark to or
from the current page
Exit the app and return to
Communicator 5 Home Page
Open the reader options to set the
font size, margins, color mode, and
