Introduction
A Business Tax Receipt, or BTR, is an annual business tax for all businesses, professionals,
independent contractors, and individuals who accept compensation for merchandise or services,
who are located within city limits. The rules for Business Tax Receipts dier for businesses located
within unincorporated areas of Pinellas County and within the City of Largo.
Purpose
This guide is intended for the public to understand the BTR process. Largo’s Civic Access Portal, or
LCAP, is what you will use to apply for a BTR.

BTR Classications
Businesses in Largo’s Tax District are required to pay taxes to operate. There are several types of
classications:
Home Oice Businesses
Those doing business from a residential location in Largo’s Tax District.
Commercial Businesses
Any commercial business operating within Largos Tax District.
Registration
Those located outside of Largos Tax District doing business within Largo.
Solicitor License
A license for those who intend to solicit door-to-door within Largo’s Tax District.

Applying Online
Start by visiting the Largo Civic Access Portal, or LCAP, by entering https://largo.com/lcap in a web
browser. For best results, it is recommended that you do not use Google Chrome.
1. Login to your LCAP Account
Select Login or Register in the top right corner. You can also select the tile in the center of the
homepage. Please note that your eTRAKiT credentials from our legacy system will not work.
If you haven’t used LCAP before, select Create an account at the bottom of the login screen. Enter
required information and follow the prompts.

2. Visit the Apply page
Once you’ve logged into your account. Select Apply from the home bar, or the tile on the right side.
3. Search for a Classication
Select the Licenses tab.
You can search for your desired category by selecting Show Categories on the left side. You can
also use the search bar below Application Assistant to nd what you’re looking for.

Any commercial business tax receipt will show a range of numbers. These are SIC codes, which are
used to classify dierent types of businesses. Some options may include a range of codes, or a
specic code, so it is important to read the description.
If you’ve applied for a BTR in the past, you can use the same code you’ve used in previous years. If
you’re not sure what your business falls under, visit https://SICCODE.com to search code types.
When searching by a SIC code, it’s best to search by the rst two digits since the code you are
looking for may fall within a range, such as Retail Trade, as an example.
You can also search by keyword, such as “retail” as shown below.
Once you’ve found the right Business Tax Receipt application, select Apply to move on.

4. Select or create a business
Depending on which classication you’re applying for, the application process may be dierent.
This example will demonstrate the commercial application process.
If you already have a business created in LCAP, it will be listed here. Otherwise, you’ll need to create
a new business to apply. Select your business type using the dropdown, then select the blue box to
move forward.
Add your business location by selecting the blue Add Location box.

You will be directed to a map to nd your address. Use the search bar on the left to enter the
address.
When searching, do not include punctuation. We suggest searching by the address number and
street name. Abbreviating the street prex is also recommended for best results (Ave, St, Dr, Blvd).
Entering less information will list more options for you to choose from, which may help if you’re
having trouble nding the right address.
Then select Add to move forward by choosing either the box on the left, or in the popup.
Select Next after conrming your address was successfully added.
5. Add Business Details
Add all business details. Ensure all required information is entered to proceed.

6. Add contacts
As the applicant, you’ll need to add all required contacts on behalf of the business owner. If you are
the business owner, you will still need to add yourself to the Business Owner tile. You can also add
additional contacts if applicable.
If the Next button is grayed out or not selectable, please conrm that all required contacts have
been added successfully.
From this screen, you’ll want to rst search a contact to see if they already have an account in our
system. If not, you can enter a new contact in manually by selecting the option at the top. Once you
nd the right contact, select Add on the right side.
If you frequently work with specic contacts, you can select the star icon to add them as a favorite.
Once you’re done, select Next.

7. Add More Information
From this screen, you’ll need to add specic details about your business to properly calculate your
business tax. It’s important that this information is up-to-date and accurate.
Your FEIN (Federal Employer Identication Number) can be found on you SunBiz registration. If you
don’t have one, it is free to apply for at http://irs.gov.
A non-transient license is a public lodging establishment which is rented for periods of at least 30
days. This license is required for anyone renting over 5 apartments. You can apply for this license at
https://www2.myoridalicense.com/hotels-restaurants/licensing/apartment-guide/.
If your application is a SIC code range, this is where you will select your specic SIC code.
Once you’ve lled out all the required information, check the acknowledgement and select Next.

8. Add Attachments
This is where you will need to upload your SunBiz Registration of ctitious name or entity name if
you are doing business as something other than your rst and last name, as well as all applicable
county or state licensing. If you are operating in only your rst and last name, you can upload a
document attesting to that in place of the SunBiz requirement.
PDFs are a preferred le type. If you have a physical copy, you can scan it in at City Hall.
If the Next button is grayed out or not selectable, please conrm that all required attachments have
been added successfully.
9. Add Signature
Read the instructions on the page and enter your name where prompted. You can elect to either
draw your signature in the box or enable type signature if you prefer.

10. Review and Submit
Review your information and conrm it is correct. Once nished, select Submit.
A City team member will contact you with any nal requirements and send the invoice to payment
to your email address.
Your BTR will be available to print from your account in LCAP once the city receives and processes
your payment.
