Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing the Fat Shark Scout HD FPV Headset. The Scout HD is a goggle
packed with the latest technology including a built-in Digital receiver and everything necessary
for amazing flights. To ensure your get the most out of your experience, please take the time to
read through this operating manual thoroughly before using.

Operation
DC cable input: 3S 4S LiPo
The DC cable converts 9-18V input, fixed 7.8V output. We recommend a 3S 4S
battery.
After power on, the system will automatically enter sweep mode and sweep again at 8-
second intervals until a valid channel is searched, then it will automatically enter video
mode and display images. If more than one channel is searched, all valid channels will
be listed in this, and the valid channels will be updated every 8 seconds.
If no valid channel has been searched, Long press the up button to force into video
mode. (At this time the image is displayed as a black screen, because there is no valid
channel)
In video mode, you can long press the up button to enter the menu interface. The menu
is used for system setting.

Firmware Update
We recommend using a standard Micro SD card with a capacity of 2GB - 32GB, which
is commonly available in the market
First, put the upgrade the firmware to the root directory of the Micro SD card
( HDZERO_RX.bin, Shark_Byte.bin, HDZERO_VA.bin, IPL, RTK)d. Then power on .
The system will automatically enter firmware update mode, please do not power off
during the upgrade process. When the firmware update is finished, The system will
prompt for a reboot, then the upgrade will be successful.

Options Menu
The Scout HD has a wide array of adjustable options and deeper features that are
accessed through the menu system. To enter the options menu, press and hold the center
of the middle button. The high-level menu will come up on the screen. The arrows are
used to navigate through the options. To exit the menu, press and hold the middle button
again.

Scan
Re-enter the scanning mode, used to search for valid channels. Operation and just boot
the same.
Playback
Used to browse the recorded video files and to play the video files on this machine. Long
press the up button up button
to exit.
Format SD-Card
Format the Micro SD card. When formatting is complete, it will exit automatically.
Record Mode
AutoDefault):Auto Recording, when set to this mode, the boot will automatically
record
ManualManual recording. When set to this mode, you need to press the middle button to
start recording. And You also need to press the middle button to stop recording
Auto Scan
ONDefault))Automatic frequency scan mode after power on
OFFTurn off auto scan mode. The system automatically enters the channel of the last
image display by default and exits automatically after the setting is completed.
VRX OSD:
ON (default): turns on the small red dot in the upper right corner of the video mode and the
signal column of the VRX.
OFF: turns off the small red dot in the upper right corner of the video mode and the signal
column of the VRX.
After the Settings are complete, the system automatically exits.
Antenna
Test the antenna status of SCOUT. Press and hold the up button to exit.

DVR Operation
1. SD card MUST be formatted with a FAT32 file system before use to
ensure stable recording.

2. DVR is able to record from the selected input source only and supports
certain standard formats.
3. Do not place alternative files that you want to keep into the DVR. The
DVR may not recognize the file space and write over your files. Use
dedicated SD card.
If the system's Record Mode is set to Auto. micro-SD card is valid (no damage, not full,
inserted into SD card slot normally), in video mode, when there is a stable video signal,
automatic recording, while the recording indicator blinks. when the SD space left is less
than 200MB, recording stops. The video indicator will be on for a long time. Switch to
Menu Mode to stop recording and restart a new recording if you go to Video Mode again.
If the system's Record Mode is set to Manual, the Micro SD card is valid (no damage, not
full, inserted into SD card slot normally), in Video Mode, when there is a stable video
signal, press and hold the Confirm button to start recording, while the recording indicator
flashes. The video indicator will be on for a long time. Switch to menu mode, stop
recording, if you switch to video mode again, you need to press and hold the confirm
button again to start a new recording.

Warranty
The system can be exchanged for a new unit within 7 days for any manufacturing defects if
returned in new condition. The device will be warranted for repair for 2 years if no signs of
excessive use. Buyer will be responsible for shipping costs. If beyond the warranty period we
will provide repair services.
