FS 318.14(10) allows you to elect the option of entering a plea of nolo contendere (no contest). By providing proof of

compliance with the appropriate statute to the Santa Ross County Clerk’s Office, and paying the costs, the adjudication of

guilt will be withheld by the Court and no “points” or “conviction” will be added to your driving history by the

Department of Highway Safety an Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). You are only eligible for this option once every twelve

(12) months and not more than three (3) times during your lifetime. If you sign the affidavit and are found to be ineligible

for this option, DHSMV will suspend your driver’s license and you will be required to appear in court for sentencing. You

will be required to pay a $16.00 (infraction) or $25.00 (criminal) delinquency fee and a $60.00 license reinstatement fee to

the Clerk. You may not make this election if you hold a commercial motor vehicle license.

By entering a plea of no contest in this mater, you waive the right to speedy trial, the right to an attorney, the right

to question witnesses against you and have witnesses testify on your behalf, and the right to file an appeal in this

matter
