Bluebird Trail Report:
The Innsbrook Bluebird Trail is starting its
27th year of monitoring our local bluebirds.
The original trail was started in 1997 by the
Innsbrook Garden Club. It started with just
12 nest boxes. We now monitor over 170
nest boxes each week. There are 20 faithful
monitors reporting each week of the breeding
season. Last year, our bluebirds edged 834
chicks and since 1997, we have edged 12,247
chicks!
This year, our birds are o to an amazing start
with a reported 88 nests containing 246 eggs
and 12 chicks have already hatched. They have
never started this strongly before, it should be
an awesome season.
If you would like to join in the fun, installed
nest boxes are available for a $60 donation
to the Innsbrook Bluebird Trail. For more
information, please contact Shirley at:

IBK Fishing Club Tips
When shing for bedding bass, the indirect
approach is best. Bass come shallow to spawn.
The sh have been known to spawn in as little
as one foot of water. Although an angler with
polarized glasses may be able to see the sh,
casting right at them will not often produce
bites. The sh are likely to ee an invasive lure.
The right approach is to sh on the edges of
the nests. Move lures slowly and target them
about a foot away from the sh. It may take
multiple casts, but he bass will react. Often the
bump the lure or briey mouth it to move it
away from their nests. Once the sh engages
the lure, instead of eeing from it, you’ll have
them.
