Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
Shielded Metal Arc Welding, often referred to as stick
welding, is the basis of all welding processes. Learn
to weld multiple joint designs utilizing the SMAW
process in accordance with American Welding Society
specifications. *Class cost is $1,950.
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welding, often referred to as MIG,
offers lab instruction in the following processes: short
circuit; spray transfer; and, pulsed transfer. Learn to
weld multiple joint designs utilizing the GMAW process in
accordance with American Welding Society specifications.
*Class cost is $1,950.
Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Flux Cored Arc Welding is an all-position process.
Learn the proper machine set up and equipment
operation and how to weld multiple joint designs
utilizing the FCAW process in accordance with American
Welding Society specifications. *Class cost is $999.
G
as Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, also known as TIG or
Heli-Arc, is the most technically demanding process.
TIG welding is a two-handed process. Utilize multiple
joint designs and base metal types using the GTAW
process in accordance with American Welding Society
specifications. *Class cost is $450.
ASME IX Pressure Pipe Welding
Utilizing the SMAW or GTAW process includes
two designs: open root joint design and backing
ring joint design. Students must have a 3G AWS
Welding certification in SMAW or GTAW process prior to
enrolling in this class, (a preparation class may be offered
to students that need to meet this requirement), or field
experience with instructor’s approval. *Class cost is $1,950.
*Tuition assistance is available.
