Christmas Tree Silent Auction
Participation Guidelines
Thank you for your sharing your time and talent by decorating a Christmas tree for the Holidays in Grand
Valley Christmas Tree Silent Auction. Your participation will help to illuminate the holiday season in a
special way for the Parachute/Battlement Mesa community.
A picture of the decorated tree must be emailed to Jessica Paugh, [email protected], by 5 PM
on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 so it can be included in the online auction site. Each participant may raise
funds for their own non-profit/organization or can indicate the non-profit/organization to which the funds
will be donated. Although trees will be displayed in business windows, the entire auction will be held
online.
Below is a list of participation guidelines.
Participation Form and submit it to the Town Hall by December 8. This form is
required to ensure that your item has the appropriate sign when it is on display at the auction.

Designer Guidelines:
Materials and the labor required to acquire and decorate the tree are your contribution to the auction.
All decorations, lights, and trim must be tied securely to the tree. Twist ties or floral wire works well.
Ornament caps MUST be glued to the ornament. Hot glue works well. It is recommended that glue be
applied to caps prior to tree decorating.
Table skirts must be fire proof or sprayed with fire retardant.
We recommend trees have lights. Remember to check the lights before tying them to your entry.

We encourage you to choose any theme, but artistic creativity and imagination should always take
precedence over theme.

If delivery to auction winner is not included, pick up must be coordinated and scheduled between you and the
recipient.
The following items are NOT permitted on a tree:
Flammable materials
Unwrapped candy or food items
Candles
Firearm accessories
Tobacco
Perishable food or materials

Wednesday, December 9 - Saturday, December 12. Trees will also be available to view on the Visit
Parachute website.
An online auction will be held December 12, 2020. Bidding will close December 12 at 9 PM.
Winning bidders will be contacted via email on Sunday, December 13 and will directed to make
delivery/pick up arrangements with the appropriate tree decorating organization.
Business Owner:
Businesses can decorate and display their tree in their business or can offer their business’ window(s) for
display of trees decorated by someone else. Most windows will accommodate more than one tree.
Participating Business Owners agree to allow bidders to enter their stores to view trees during normal
operating hours.
Participating Business Owners agree to display trees in their windows from Wednesday, December
9 - Saturday, December 12.
Silent Auction Awards:
Awards for outstanding designs will be given out for the following categories:
